bio:
North Carolina native Madison Rast graduated from the prestigious North Carolina School of the Arts in Winston-Salem with a B.M. in double bass performance. He received his masters degree in jazz performance from Virginia Commonwealth University. He moved to Philadelphia in the fall of 1999 to pursue a career in jazz.
Since that time he has become one of the areas most in demand sidemen. Performing at clubs in and around Philadelphia and New York. His solid and steady basslines have supported many notable jazz musicians including Donald Byrd, Mickey Roker, Richard Wyands, Barry Harris, Bobby Watson and Eric Alexander. As a member of the Kraft Quartet he has appeared on recordings with musicians Sean Costello, Bob Margolin, Mookie Brill, Mitch Easter, Aaron Bachelder and David Boatwright.
